RealArcade has released a game of the Twilight movie, and it’s available for free, but for a limited time only.

Twilight: The Movie Game is a quiz that features hundreds of questions about the Twilight universe. You can play alone – just to test your own Twilight fan credibility – or take on a fellow fan and see who knows the most about Stephanie Meyer’s creation.

The second film in the Twilight series, New Moon, has just been released, so the timing of this Twilight freebie is no mystery. Cynicism aside, if you’re a Robert Pattinson fan or just an admirer of the books, we’d recommend heading on down to the App Store before this gets a more imposing price tag.

SIM-free iPhone 3GS now available online

TheApple iPhone 3G S is now available online in 16GB and 32GB varieties priced at £799.99 and £899.99 respectively.

There's probably not a whole heap of people that don't know the 3G S' vitals by now, but in case you've been in a cave, its particulars include:

Naturally, a large appeal of the iPhone lays in-waiting at the iTunes app store, with thousands of various functional and gaming apps.

With a seriously steep price tag that's roughly equivalent to a decent spec laptop, you're going to have to have a fairly serious phobia of O2 and contracts in general to shell out the reddies for this up-front.

Artificial Life trying to put an end to free iPhone lite versions?

Red Bull Air Race Lite from Artificial Life has been released, but it isn't free. Does this first spell out the start of a new pricing trend?

In what would appear to be a first for the App Store, a lite version of a game has been released that isn’t free. The game in question is Artificial Life’s Red Bull Air race. Up until now, the lite version has generally been used as a marketing tool to help shift more copies of the full paid-for version, essentially a demo and always free.

This is a bold move by publisher Artificial Life, especially considering we’ve only just seen the lite version flourish into a trend that’s been adopted by every sort of developer, from the huge to the tiny. Red Bull Air Race Lite still only costs the smallest amount the App Store allows, 59p, but if it’s successful it could mean that big publishers may be tempted into using the same tactic.

What could this mean for the future of the lite version? Well, we like it as it is at the moment. Red Bull Air Race Lite may offer more content than your average freebie lite version, but when the price of most iPhone games means you can skip between games fairly quickly without worrying too much about the cost, whether an additional bridge between a quick demo and a full version is needed is a point of contention.

The full version of the Red Bull Air Race lite is planned for release towards the end of April.

Free iPhone game of the week: Tap Tap Revenge 2

Rhythm games have exploded in recent years across all gaming formats, but it’s the Tap Tap series that’s dominated on the iPhone. There’s one major reason for this: most of the games are free.

The second instalment of the Tap Tap Revenge branch, Tap Tap Revenge 2, has just been released, complete with new visual effects, tunes and game modes. Although most of the songs you can download are from fledgling artists, there are songs from bigger groups like Death Cab for Cutie and Nine Inch Nails available too. Again, these additional songs are free to download.

Tap Tap Revenge works on the idea that once you’ve grown to love a song by playing through it, you’re more likely to buy the tune separately on iTunes, and indeed more songs from that artist.
