The iPhone 3G and iPod Touch are pretty pimp devices that allow anyone from the the geekiest tech geek to the casual user to access tons of fun games and useful applications. While there are dozens upon dozens of pay apps that offer robust functionality, there are also dozens upon dozens of free apps that are just as good.

“If they’re so good, why are they free?”, you’re probably asking. Well, Debbie Downer, some altruistic folk actually believe in bringing joy to the masses. On the other hand, other developers toss out free applications while there are still some bugs and fixes to be hammered out, and then later upgrade that app to a pay app (Weight Tracker, for example).
