Free iPhone game of the week: Tap Tap Revenge 2

Rhythm games have exploded in recent years across all gaming formats, but it’s the Tap Tap series that’s dominated on the iPhone. There’s one major reason for this: most of the games are free.

The second instalment of the Tap Tap Revenge branch, Tap Tap Revenge 2, has just been released, complete with new visual effects, tunes and game modes. Although most of the songs you can download are from fledgling artists, there are songs from bigger groups like Death Cab for Cutie and Nine Inch Nails available too. Again, these additional songs are free to download.

Tap Tap Revenge works on the idea that once you’ve grown to love a song by playing through it, you’re more likely to buy the tune separately on iTunes, and indeed more songs from that artist.
