T-Mobile will be the network of choice for the iPhone in Germany
The operator on Wednesday formally unveiled a deal with Apple that will make it the exclusive German carrier for the iPhone when it launches on 9 November.
T-Mobile had been rumored to be among the European carriers in contention for the device since it was released to the public in the US last June.
Yesterday, O2 became the first European carrier to announce a deal with Apple to be the exclusive UK carrier for the iPhone. The third rumored carrier, Orange, has yet to release any word on whether it will carry the iPhone in France.
German consumers will need to pay 399 Euro for the 8GB iPhone. A two-year contract with T-Mobile will also be required, but no subscription rates were revealed.
The company was similarly mum on any plans to carry the iPhone outside of Germany. Earlier this week, reports suggested that T-Mobile would expand its iPhone coverage to include The Netherlands, Austria, Hungary and Croatia.
